The Intelligence Research Specialist (Security Specialist) duties will work with the Technical Operations Group in the Investigative Operations Division. The Specialist will work independently to provide support to Senior Inspectors.

job responsibilities

  • Conducts intelligence research and analysis in order to determine patterns and links in Government investigations 

  • Assists Senior Intelligence Analyst and Investigator in obtaining and collecting all documents and information to complete case file 

  • Plans and conducts a variety of quantitative and qualitative studies, analyses, assessments, and evaluations related to criminal investigation cases, data for completeness of the information and proper execution 

  • Produces quantitative and qualitative reports on criminal investigation  cases requested

  • Consolidates, analyzes, and evaluates incoming classified and sensitive but classified, intelligence reports and information

  • Identifies missing data and formulate initiatives to collect data 

  • Analyzes and provides assistance to investigators concerning fugitive investigations

  • Establishes methodologies for problems encountered during operational situations 

  • Prepares basic-descriptive, current reportorial, or speculative estimative classified and intelligence reports

  • Prepares daily reports as designed by the Chief , showing the activity of current classified surveillance to include maps and charts showing updated locations of persons under surveillance 

  • Prepares and conducts training for personnel, as requested by the Chief, Unit, and other agencies

  • Responds to law enforcement operations to provide technical assistance with the installation of technical intelligence collection platforms 

  • Conducts, develops, tests, and evaluates research of commercial and classified emerging technologies and makes recommendations to Chief, Units and other agencies 

job requirements 

  • Must possess a High School diploma

  • Must have a Top Secret| SCI Clearance

  • Must have at least three (3) years of specialized experience related to the duties descried above

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

  • Must have experience using PenLink, mapping, and GIS Applications

  • Must have experience with or the ability to learn Government telecommunications systems and surveillance techniques
