job overview 

The Visual Information Specialist (VIS) will provide graphic design and visual communications planning development and management support within the Intelligence Branch (IB) front office as well as the supporting divisions within the Intelligence Branch. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Support graphic design and other visual requests in support of the FBI Intelligence Branch's strategic priorities.

  • Design the entire IB branding efforts, including developing templates for the Branch's quarterly and weekly newsletters, email banners, marketing signage, presentations, infographics, web design, audio, video and other data visualization projects.

  • Provide graphic support to other executives within the IB front office as well as supporting divisions that request visual assistance in developing geospatial and heat ops and other projects.

  • Provide a variety of internal communications for the intelligence workforce.

  • Provide direct graphic design support for the Executive Staff of multiple divisions.

  • Conduct Management Analysis in order to present complex ideas in a visual graphic design. 

  • Develop daily and weekly talking points for Executive Directors to present to the internal workforce and the external intelligence community.

  • Prepare and present analytically complex, visually appealing, aesthetically pleasing Slide Decks for Executive Directors.

  • Design monthly newsletters for the internal workforce.

  • Design and maintain multiple SharePoint Sites for Executive Directors.

  • Design a variety of presentations for different audiences within the Intelligence Community. 

  • Increase the Graphic Presence with internal websites for the intelligence community.

  • Provide daily briefings with infographics to Directors.

job requirements 

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in design, fine arts, or a related field.

  • Must have a minimum of four(4) years of experience producing graphic design and content writing for executive-level audiences. 

  • Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). 

  • Must have experience mapping and geographic imaging. 

  • Must have experience receiving a written product and repackaging in into a visual product.

  • Must have experience with SharePoint 2013 and technical management of internal sites, including site creation, web parts, lists, libraries, and calendars, managing user permissions, and modifying other content.

  • Must have experience producing newsletters, presentations, and other communication products involving complex intelligence topics and graphics for all audiences-types within the intelligence community.

  • Must have demonstrated the ability to self-start and take initiative with minimal support or guidance.

  • Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Must have excellent organizational abilities.

  • Graphics and writing samples required. 

Preferred job experience 

  • Master's degree in design or a related field 

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
